Delhi Police get more Rs 1,700Cr, RS 287CR for Tech Upgrade

New Delhi: Delhi police have allocated Rs 10,355.29 Crore in the estimated Union budget for 2022-23 compared to RS 8,654.26 Crore on 2021-22.
While RS 9,808.39 Crore is allocated for expenditures related to the establishment, RS 287 Crore will be given to the installation of the CCTV supervision system, the procurement of advanced equipment for legal modernization and order, enhancement of communication systems, such as radio trunking cyber systems, in addition to the implementation of the intelligent traffic management system and induction of various types of vehicles for the police.
Overall, RS 259 ​​Crore will be exclusively issued for police infrastructure for the construction of office and residential buildings and operations and maintenance of new police headquarters under public-private partnership mode.
In last year’s budget, RS 8.100.2 Crore was intended for expenditure related to establishments, around 237 crores to improve and expand the communication infrastructure, modernization of equipment, installation of traffic signals, increased training and procurement of vehicles for the police.
Recently, Delhi police launched the e-FIR application system for theft registration and theft cases.
Earlier this year, online citizen services were increased and automatically generated updates sent to the complainant.
On Sunday, Commissioner Rakesh Asthana introduced a phonetic keyboard with the typing of Hindi’s voice.
The speech-to-text feature is synchronized with a network and a criminal tracking system.
