Delhi: Police to continue to confiscate cash accounts in savings

New Delhi: All police stations in the city will now open a savings bank account to deposit cash confiscated or recovered.
Police Commissioner Rakesh Asthana issued instructions in this matter.
The move occurred after Sho Palam Village, Paras Nath Verma, deposited a number of Rs 96,340 as a fixed deposit (FD) at the bank.
The amount was confiscated in previous gambling attacks in 2019.
On October 15, TOI has reported that the West-Western District, where the Palam police station fell, will soon implement a scheme in all districts.
Then, it was decided to implement a scheme in all 210 police stations in the city.
However, in a meeting last week, direction was issued that instead of the FD system every police station will open a savings bank account and deposit cash confiscated in it.
Traditionally, confiscated cash or restored records stored in Makhana, also referred to as a warehouse in the police station.
Account opening will save a damaged or stolen record problem.
A police officer told Ti Process has begun in several police offices that have even opened an account.
