New Delhi: Given the Covid-19 situation which was enhanced and easing restrictions, the Delhi Prisons department had decided to continue the physical meeting of prisoners with relatives and friends from February 10, officials said on Saturday.
The Director General (Prison) Sandeep Goel said, “One ‘Martqat’ will be permitted per inmate in 15 days.
In every ‘Martqat’, one visitor will be permitted.” Physical meetings were suspended in the first week of January due to increased cases and restrictions on Covid-19 which was enacted by the authorities.
According to officials, 141 inmates have been tested positive for Covid-19 to Friday.
A total of 168 prison staff have tested positive for viruses.
