New Delhi: Flow meter projects that are much delayed to monitor city water supply networks in real-time has a new deadline on September 30, 2021.
This project starts detecting leakage and minimizing non-income water in Delhi through real-week monitoring water flow in the system City pipe.
This special bulk meter is being arranged from a water treatment plant to colony reservoir levels for water accounting.
The many pending projects have seen some revisions of the deadline since 2018 when the project starts.
Official reports show that 362 primary nodes and 2,842 secondary nodes in the pipe system have been borne, but problems such as electrical connections for meters continue to interfere with several sites.
A senior DJB official said 98% of the main supply system and 97% of the secondary supply system had been covered and the project was expected to be completed at the end of September.
“Out of the 3,285 points chosen where the flow meter must be installed, 3.204 has been installed,” said the official.
DJB also faces problems to energize the flow meter.
“Power connection for 571 meters of flow has been delayed but for now they have been given energy with batteries,” official said.
The SCADA data center has been arranged in DJB HQ in Varunalaya, Jhandewalan, from where Air Entre audits will be carried out in real-time after installing meters at the environmental level, colony and district.
The JAL board runs a network of water supply from a pipeline network consisting of 14,000 km.
DJB’s goal is to build a real-time monitoring system for capital water supply and the right function of a water treatment plant through the SCADA system.
This system provides details such as pressure and water flow in important locations that are decided in the water supply system.
It also provides integration of other instruments such as water quality sensors, benchmarks water supply, water quantum audits that are distributed and calculating losses.
“This project is designed to ensure that water loss is reduced and the maximum water utilization is achieved,” the official said.
The spread of effective alarm systems in SCADA is expected to help issue a timely warning in the parameters of quality and quantity.
DJB faces a regular crisis in water production due to various pollutants, such as ammonia, chloride and turbidity.
“The alarm system will go immediately after the parameters cross their limits in raw water.
This in turn will allow the DJB team here to take the necessary preventive steps,” the previous board was announced.
