Delhi: Protest ‘Chakka Clock’ causes massive traffic congestion

New Delhi: The first working day of the new year became a nightmare for passengers because they had to face massive traffic congestion in various parts of the city with BJP which staged the government’s new AAP excise protest.
The protesters deflated the DTC bus front tire which caused the main artery to choke.
Delhi BJP blames “naughty elements” for vandalism and interference.
Massive traffic congestion seen in several places, including Ito, Laxmi Nagar, Akshardham, Bridge Signature, Karol Bagh, Uttam Nagar and Aali Gaon.
The DTC driver said they asked the demonstrators not to deflate tires because it took a long time to make the bus move but they did not pay attention.
According to reports prepared by DTC, in almost all instances, two front tires are pierced or air out.
The area where the bus is targeted including Madhuban Chowk, peeragarhi, East Nagar Patel, Rajender Nagar, Rajender Place, Dwarka Mor and Kashmere Gate.
“A total of 86 buses, including 39 DTC buses and 47 bus cluster schemes were damaged throughout the city during the ‘chakka clock’ on Monday.
Not only tires from these buses flat, but many bus windows were damaged too,” Minister of Transportation Delhi, Kailash Gahlot.
This happens when commuting has faced a terrible time due to restrictions on the capacity of the bus seat because of the Covid safety protocol.
Below level 1 (yellow) of the multi-storey response action plan, only 50% seating is allowed in public transport buses and no passengers standing are allowed to ensure social distance.
“This is a really irresponsible behavior and seems to have been done for people’s discomfort.
Now the fitness test all these buses must be done and the level of damage is reviewed.
Only after this bus cleanses the test, can they return to service because public safety is involved,” Gahlot said to Toi.
Delhi Secretary General BJP Harsh Malhotra claimed in a statement that some Rwas associations and traders have joined the younger brother.
“Take advantage of it, some naughty elements join and spoil vandalism,” he said.
“The goal of BJP is godly because it is to highlight the bad consequences of new liquor policies.
However, if some people face problems because of ‘chakka jam’, we regret it,” he said.
Around 2:30 p.m.
on Monday, Rajender Sharma, along with other other bus drivers, stood near their bus at Laxmi Nagar.
More than half a dozen buses with flat tires standing in both the main road carriageways because there is traffic in the area.
Sharma and the Amit bus conductor asked the demonstrators not to deflate tires but it didn’t work.
Many new passengers in the city do not understand how to achieve their goals.
“Seventeen passengers were sitting on the bus.
Most of them are new in the city and we will go to Anand Vihar ISBT when we are stuck in protests,” Sharma said.
“We suspect that they are all planning.
They carry equipment that can easily level tires.
, “Other drivers, Dharmender Singh, said.
Commuter expressed their disapproval.
“What have they obtained from doing this? We are sufferers,” said Amit, who was waiting for the bus in the Laxmi Nagar area.
Other commuters, Ajay, showed that after lid 50%, it was not easy to enter the bus quickly.
“In the current scenario, if the bus becomes damaged, then the poor, who depend on the bus, will suffer,” he said.
Rekha, another commuter, agreed.
He said they were mostly dependent on the bus to leave because they could not afford the autorickshaws.
“Such incidents will only add to our problems,” he said.
DP Ratan, who is waiting for a bus with his friend, said “this kind of protest only causes abuse to ordinary people”.
According to police Delhi, 10 people, including Delhi President BJP Adesh Gupta, was detained and released after one hour.
