New Delhi: Delhi on Friday recorded 17,335 fresh covid cases, the highest single-day hike since May 8, and nine deaths, while the level of participants increased to 17.73 percent, according to data distributed by the City Health Department.
This is a significant increase from Thursday when the city recorded 15,097 new cases at a 15.34 percent participant level.
On Wednesday and Tuesday, 10,665 and 5,481 cases were recorded with the level of participation of 11.88 percent and 8.37 percent, according to official figures.
On Friday, the count was installed up to 17,335 with 17.73 percent participant, according to the latest health bulletin.
This is the highest single increase since May 8 when 17,364 cases were recorded at a 23.34 percent level of participation.
332 deaths were also recorded on that day.
A large surge in new cases over the past few days was recorded in the midst of a significant leap in the case of the new Covid Omicron variant.
The death toll because Koronavirus infection in Delhi has now increased to 25,136.
The number of cumulative cases on Thursday reached 15.06.798.
More than 14.41 lakh patients have recovered from infection.
During the second wave height of the pandemic, 28,395 cases, the highest one-day calculation, and 277 deaths were recorded in Delhi on April 20 last year, according to official numbers.
Nine Covid-19 deaths were reported in the city in December last year, and seven in November, according to official data.
Delhi has recorded four Covid deaths in October and five in September.
A total of 97,762 tests – 78,154 RT-PCR tests and 19,608 Antigen tests are fast – done everyday last, said the bulletin.
