New Delhi: In the midst of a drop of temperature, Delhi’s peak power demand surged to 5.104 MW on Friday night and passed the highest winter last year, said discoming officials on Saturday.
Demand for peak power in the winter 2021 is 5,021 MW.

BSKE DISCOM, BES Rajdhani Power Limited and BES Rajdhani Power Limited, managed to meet the highest demand for the highest winter peak summer of 2,140 MW and 1,114 MW in their respective regions on January 14, BSES spokesman said.
Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (TPDDL) meets a record demand for 1,606 MW records without network constraints and power outages because Delhi witnessed cold waves, a company spokesman said.
The highest peak power request recorded in December 2021 was 4,685 MW.
It was recorded on December 31, 2021, officials said.
At 4,685 MW, Delhi’s peak power request for December last year has surpassed that December 2020, when it was 4,671 MW, they said.
