Delhi reported 4,099 new Covid cases in the last 24 hours

NEW DELHI: Covid-19 Points Level in Delhi violated a 5% mark on Monday with 4,099 people, or 6.46% of a total of 63,477 people tested for virus infections in the last 24 hours, tested positive.
One of the fresh fatalities was also reported, taking the victim to 25,110.
Under the action plan for the Delhi disaster management response response, if the level of premises remains more than 5% for two consecutive days, it will trigger a red warning that leads to “total hours of night”.
The city reported 3,194 cases of Covid-19 with a department of 4.59% on Sundays and 2,716 cases with a 3.6% position level on Saturday.
On Friday and Thursday, 1,796 and 1,313 cases were recorded with the level of participation of 1.73% and 2.44% respectively.
Some resident doctors in Safdarjung and Aiims – Two large public hospitals – have also tested positive viral infections, said sources.
Health Minister Satyendar Jain said the surge in this case was due mainly due to the spread of the omicron variant of SARS-COV2.
“In the past few days, 187 genome sequencing reports have come.
From all this, 152 people found omicron-positive.
Omicron is now a dominant variant in Delhi with around 81% of the total cases,” he added.
Omicron variant, who was first detected in South Africa in November last year and has since spread throughout the world, it is known to be more contagious, but rarely causes severe symptoms.
This is reflected in the data distributed by the Delhi government.
At present, there are 10,986 active cases in the city.
From them, 420 was received in hospitals, including some suspected cases.
“Overall, 211 asymptomatic patients or have mild symptoms, 124 in oxygen support and seven on ventilator support,” data shows.
When the second wave of pandemic approached, the number of inpatients was much higher.
Delhi recorded more than 4,000 Covid-19 cases for the first time during the second wave in April on that day, 21 deaths were recorded.
Also, 2,727 patients were received in various hospitals.
More than 4,099 cases of Covid-19, daily daily Monday, recorded on May 18 when the second wave was receding.
“Even though it is true that Omicron causes severe symptoms to fewer people compared to the Delta variant, we should not be complacent.
It is also true that Omicron spreads much faster, which means there is a probability of increasing cases quickly.
So, even if it is less than 1% The affected person experiencing moderate to severe symptoms, may leave the infrastructure of health services overwhelmed, “said Dr.
Arun Gupta, Delhi’s medical council president.
