New Delhi: At the time of Delhi with enthusiastic waiting fun weather, many restaurants and restaurants tried to make an outdoor dining area and on the roof.
About a hundred applications have been accepted for open air eating licenses, the most from Dwarka and other areas in the South and Aerocity zone in the Najafgarh zone, both are included under Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC).
A senior SDMC official said 29 applications had been rejected and the owner had been asked to register again after meeting the norm.
With increasing concerns about ventilation during pandemic, open air eating places are expected to become more popular after businesses settled after the latest lock.
Data from SDMC shows that of the 94 license applications, 39 comes from the South Zone, which has an upscale area such as Greater Kailash, Green Park and Hauz are typical, while 31 of the Najafgarh zone with places like Dwarka and Aerocity.
The middle zone gets 15 applications and nine comes from the west zone of places such as Rajouri Park and Punjabi Bagh.
“While 56 licenses have been given so far, 28 has been rejected.
Ten applications are being processed,” the official said.
The overall rejection rate is 30%, the highest creature in the West Zone where eight of the nine applications are not approved.
Some applications are accepted from Aerocity, Kapashera, Dwarka, Hauz Typical and Aurobindo Marg.
Last year, after the southern corporation cleared the air-air dining policy, it allows serving food and liquor on the roof and in open space, the North corporation also adopted the same policy.
The interest shown by restaurants in North Delhi is much weaker.
A senior North Corporation official said only one restaurant in Rajendra Nagar was given a license.
A Delhi Municipal Corporation official said they had not started to provide the license.
The policy states that the license will be given to restaurants with a health trade license and where open space, such as the roof, is privately property.
Furthermore, there should be no encroachment in public land, paths or roads.
No dishes allowed in open areas and liquor licenses will be mandatory to serve alcoholic drinks.
The structural security certificate of certified engineers and NOC from Delhi Fire Service is also mandatory.
The cost for open air dining licenses varies from Rs 100-200 per square meter.
Before Pandemic, South Delhi has 2,000 large and small restaurants.
Previously, TOI has reported that the extension rate is still low and only about 30% of the units have updated their health trade licenses.
