New Delhi: Restaurant owner in Delhi has welcomed a new excise regime that came into force on Wednesday, said when it was fully applied, it would help recover losses issued by the sector due to covid-induced locking.
With a new regime in place, the L-17 license, which includes an independent or gastro-bar restaurant, can serve Indian or foreign liquor wherever like a balcony, terrace, or a lower area in the restaurant with the condition of the alcohol portion area playing from a view public.
They can also play live music and have professional shows, bands, DJs, karaoke, singing and dancing in place.
Rahul Singh, the owner of a beer cafe and the trustee of the Indian National Restaurant Association said this new policy was “Path Breaking” and would “revolutionize” the restaurant sector.
“Delhi is the most visited city in India, and has a inheritance and a variety of dishes that fit each palate mouth.
The availability of alko drinks with someone’s food enhances the experience of sightseeing in a safe and regulated environment.
However, it is one of the majorities.
The most mega city is served with only under 600 restaurants has a license to serve liquor, “he said.
This new policy is the same as the current time and a social perspective by providing convenience of business and beneficial conditions such as extended time, age reduced and many others who will increase state revenue, he scaly.
“This new policy is the Path Breaking and will revolutionize the restaurant sector which is one of the largest labor generators and has sector sectors that depend on also a positive impact,” he added.
Joy Singh, Co-Partner, Raasta and Yeti, called new policies as “very progressive” because they reduce documents to get liquor licenses.
“There will be fewer documents needed to get a liquor license.
This is a very progressive policy and after being fully implemented, it will be a gift for us.
It will help us increase the amount and restore losses that occur during pandemics,” he said.
However, the restaurant owner who asks anonymity says there are some doubts about new policies that need clarification as when restaurants start operating until 3am and whether orders to reduce age or not.
Meanwhile, the new excise policy also allows the sale of liquor in the bottle in the restaurant.
According to the policy, liquor will be served in glasses or full bottles in the L-17 restaurant and it will be the only license holder’s responsibility to ensure no bottle leaves the place.
This new policy also has provisions for permission for bars in hotels, clubs and restaurants to stay open until 3am.
