Delhi: Scrap Outdated diesel, Gasoline cars or Confront Rs 10k fine

The Supreme Court had on October 29, 2018 banned the plying of 15-year-old gas and 10-year-old gas vehicles from the national capital area and led the transportation department to declare these vehicles would be impounded if found .
Describing the contamination scenario in Delhi NCR because’very critical’, the apex court had said that a listing of these vehicles ought to be printed on the site of the transportation department.
After the court’s instructions, the transportation section had released a detailed collection of 10-year-old petrol and 15-yearold gas vehicles on its own site.
The department started a drive to impound 15-year-old automobiles.
Inside her Budget address for 2021-22, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had suggested a car scrapping coverage for 20-year-old private automobiles and 15-year-old industrial vehicles, below which maintaining an older car would turn out to be rather expensive as a result of greater price of obtaining a fitness certification.
“This policy will not apply from the capital since there are already strict rules against older vehicles set up to handle air pollution,” the officer stated.
