New Delhi: A 23-year-old woman suffered serious burns after a man threw acid on him because he rejected his marriage proposal at the Outer-North District.
The defendant was arrested from Bihar on Saturday.
The victim, who was married and also had children, received a third-level burning injury and was being hospitalized.
On November 3, the police received information that stalkers had thrown acid in a woman and fled.
“The victim was hospitalized and a case was registered with his statement,” said DCP (North-North) Brijendra Kumar Yadav.
The defendant, Montu, is a native of Bihar and works in a factory.
He was known as a victim because they lived in the same environment at Samaypur Badli.
The woman is also from Bihar.
“Montu began to disturb the woman to marry him even though he knew that he was married.
He continued to tell him to leave her husband, but the woman rejected her proposition.
The woman and her husband then shifted to Pooth Khurd,” said an officer.
“Montu followed them to the Pooth Khurd and began living in the same area.
One day, he called the woman to his room with the pretext and asked him to leave her husband and stay with him, but he refused,” the officer added.
Angry at the answer, Montu tied his hand, threw acid on him and escaped from the place.
The woman ran out of the house crying in pain and seek help from people.
Someone told her husband about the incident.
“His face began to turn black and he just took the name Montu.
Immediately, we found that he escaped and fled to his original place,” the officer said.
When the police reached Bihar to catch Montu, they knew that he would come to his house only at night to sleep and leave early in the morning.
“We waited for him and then arrested him,” the officer said.
After being taken to Delhi, the defendant was questioned.
Montu told the researchers that he threw acid in the woman when he refused to marry him.
He also plans to shoot the woman’s husband with a stating gun.
He has hidden a gun somewhere in the North-North District.
Police took the custody of the police one day from the court and took him to the area where he allegedly hid the weapon.
However, he misled them about the right location.
Suddenly, he pulled out a gun from somewhere and fired a shot at the police.
