Delhi: The owner of the gym takes a march protest

New Delhi: Hundreds of Gym owners on Saturday released a March protest to the Kiiden to miss the head of the kejriwal here to oppose DDMA’s decision to keep the fitness center closed even when the number of Covid cases had dropped in the city.
Demanding that the gym and spa were allowed to reopen, and raise the slogan against the government, the demonstrators began their march from Chandgi Ram Akhara to Flagstaff Road in civilian lines.
However, they were stopped by the police a few meters from the residence of the Minister of Chief.
Despite Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) on Thursday lifted the weekend hours and also allowed a restaurant, bar and cinema to operate with a capacity of 50 percent, a fitness center and schools in the city still closed.
Restrictions began to apply under ‘Yellow Warning’ issued by the authorities in December last year when the covid’s position has passed 0.5 percent in the national capital.
“We took March protests to make the government and Governor of Lieutenant Delhi (LG) hear the fate of sports owners and others involved in this business,” said Chirag Setyi, president of the Delhi Gym Association (DGA), where agritation was held.
“The fitness industry has suffered a lot because of Covid’s pandemic in the past two years and does not allow our company to reopen it will be proven to be a warrant for death for our business,” he told PTI.
He said that Covid cases in the city had dropped drastically and other business companies such as multiplex, restaurants and bars were allowed to open.
Then why fitness center is not allowed to function, ask Sethi.
“This is a sincere request.
The government and DDMA must consider them in the next meeting as soon as possible,” Sethi said.
DGA on Friday said that the owner of the gym and its members would protest near the L-G residence, but, according to him, they were not given permission.
Sethi previously said that DDMA’s decision to maintain a fitness center affected the livelihood of more than 1 lakh.
There are around 5,500 gyms in the city, he said.
The number of everyday cases in Delhi has declined after touching a record high of 28,867 on January 13.
Delhi on Friday reported 4,044 cases of Covid-19 and 25 deaths.
The level of participants, which is 30.6 percent on January 14, now, according to data released on Friday, stands at 8.6 percent for the city.
