New Delhi: The process of setting the waste treatment plant (STP) and rejuvenation of the four hectares of lakes in Roshanara Park is likely to begin at the end of September.
Delhi Jal Board (DJB) has completed the tender and is in the process of allocating the project to the concession holder.
North Delhi Municipal Corporation has agreed to provide room 500 square meters and remember the NOC to carry out work.
The 57 hectare park is managed by the Civic body, but because of the lack of dry waterways.
“To build a STP pipe and put it up to the lake, all the damage made will be repaired by the DJB at its own expense.
Because the lake is a natural water body, there is a chance that migrating birds come there.
So, water quality after treatment must be in such a way So there are no losses caused by birds and plants.
The capacity of 6-7 million per day from STP will be enough to fill the pool and irrigate the park in Roshanara Bagh, “the corporate horticulture department was mentioned in his letter to the DJB.
A senior DJB official said they conducted a technical evaluation of the offer and would immediately open a financial offer.
“We hope to start work in September.
As far as the treatment of wastewater, we have shared the quality parameters of the output needed based on NGT guidelines using the best technology (both hybrids or physicochemicals).
Concession holders will be responsible for factory operation and maintenance for 15 years .
The cost will be around Rs 11 Crore, “added the official.
Unlike the previous project, this net value will be calculated based on land costs, the technology used, power consumption and O & M plant values.
“We consider these factors before completing the bidder.
The same method will be carried out in other upcoming projects for the Rejuvenating Lakes,” the official said.
Previously, the lake was fed by rain and channels from the Najafgarh channel.
“However, due to the changes in the slope surface in the surrounding area and increased concretization, it was lying in a dry country over the past decade, except from 2012-14 when an underbridge train was built nearby and pumped water out of the site was transferred here,” said A senior company official.
Lake rejuvenation will be done by filling it with wastewater treated from waterways and sewers.
Located in Shakti Nagar, Roshanara Bagh is a Mughal-style park built by the second daughter of Emperor Mughal Shah Jahan.
The lake in a lush garden has been a hotspot visited by birds migrating during the winter.
