New Delhi: The cremation of a nine-year-old girl who was suspected of gangraped and killed in the crematorium in the Delhi Cantonment area was held on Wednesday at the same crematorium where she had previously been created by force.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (southwest) Ingit Pratap Singh said that cremation was carried out by the parents of the girl.
“The child’s parents received remnants at Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital on Wednesday after that they came to old nangal crematoriums near their homes and cremated in the presence of 15-20 of their known people,” said Singh.
DCP said, a group of people even tried to get into the crematorium during cremation, but because the parents of the child did not give approval to let the group enter, they were asked to leave.
“To avoid conflicts in the crematorium, a number of sufficient police deployed outside the main entrance gate,” the officer said.
