Delhi: This farmer is here to stay, come rain or shine

New Delhi: Sahalpreet Singh and Avi Shergill, friends for years, met at the Singhu border a few months ago when they arrived at their tractor trolleys from their villages in the skirt district and Mohali for farmers’ protest.
But it is open to elements, they feel the summer heat and modify the trolley, repair AC and other facilities for it so that 15 people can sleep comfortably.
It’s just an example of how farmers don’t let the weather damage their plans.
And when the clouds that are full of moisture blow into the region, the protesters are ready for rain too.
Singh and Shergill spent their days doing Seva in Langars.
Every time they rest, they have the luxury of refrigerated water, television and soft mattresses.
“We have also installed generators and inverters in the event of a power failure,” said Singh, looked happy with the look of the living room from the temporary quarter.
“Now we don’t have a problem with heat and we are also not worried about the rain.
We are here for the long term.” Shergill added, “Shower Monsun makes farmers happy.
Many friends have returned to their farm for time to prepare for rain.” He Saying that the innovative group behind AC accommodation is now thinking of beautifying the road where the trolley is parked.
Nand Lal of Ropar prefers the old method of overcoming the heat.
Farmers aged 75 years and some of the villagers have built a mud hut with a roof of the straw, very similar to those who returned to the house that keeps residents remain cold during the summer.
“Our Sarpanch helps us build this and the village people donate coolers and two fans.
But this house is naturally cool and does not need mechanical cooling,” Lal smiled.
“We will see the heat and the rainy season in this village cottage, even winter if the government still refuses to hear us.” Harbhajan Singh has set up a large tin roof on his langar by remembering the rain.
But the weather is not a deterrent in any case.
“Rain is welcome.
We love rain.
However, we will not be affected by cold, heat or rain.
We are here for our rights and nothing else is important,” Karnal residents said.
Protesters can take the sun and rain above their steps, but there is also hot in the neighborhood, with locals in the village of Singhu and Kundli loss of patience with life disturbances for more than a year with protests.
“They are wrong if they think they will achieve many things by staying here for a long time,” while snapping Pro Prakash, whose stationery business in Kundli has been influenced by protests.
“Every day I’m stuck in traffic while traveling.
We, shop owners in the local market, have decided to block the road in Rai in Haryana and stop supply to farmers.
Protests have been going on too long.”
