New Delhi: Delhi will begin receiving his first fleet of 300 e-buss from January 2022 because the same tender has matured, said Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) official on Wednesday.
“The first E-bus fleet will begin coming from January 2022,” Ravinder Singh Minhas, Deputy Head of General Manager (Traffic and Public Relations) in DTC, told Ivers.
In August 2020, Transport Minister Delhi Kailash Gahlot said that national capital would receive as many as 2,000 electric buses at the end of 2021.
However, a few months ago, the lack of infrastructure was quoted as an excuse behind the delay in the launch of the first batch of the most commonly used public transportation mode this.

The official said that in 2010, the Delhi government then decided to divide the fleet’s maintenance work between DTC and private companies.
“Since then, 50 percent of DTC controlled buses are controlled by private players who can maintain their own work or assign them to their official agents, and the other half by DTC.” Both settings before and after 2010 are good.
They both have their own pros and cons.
