Delhi to unfurl a flag Nat’l 115 feet high at 75 points

New Delhi: The Delhi government will on Thursday install a 115-foot national flag in 75 locations in the capital.
Sharing information through Tweet on Tuesday, PWD Minister Satyendar Jain said the move would help instill the feelings of patriotism and pride among citizens.

While five were installed on August 15 in the Kidwai Nagar area, Patparigaj, Rani, Kalkaji and Dwarka, officials said 75 flags would be installed on January 27 to commemorate the 75th Independence Year.
The government initially allocated Rs 45 Crore as the Deshbhakti budget for the 35m-high flag installation, which was then revised to Rs 84 Crore.
Officials said expenditure is now estimated at Rs 104.4 Crore.
The Public Works Department has identified 611 locations such as schools, government offices, bus depots, hospitals, courts and parks in consultation with local MLA, and market associations whose welfare and market.
“When we see the Tiranga, we goose bumps and our hearts are filled with love and pride in the nation.
Five hundred Tiranas will be installed around Delhi,” Minister said, Arvind Kejriwal said, inaugurating the first flag in Kidwai East Nagar.
“In the hustle and bustle of everyday life, we often forget about our country.
Now, this Tirangas will act as a constant reminder of love and patriotism against the nation,” he added.
