Delhi Unsung Hockey Hub produces Champs

New Delhi: On Sunday afternoon soothing, the school building that was almost 82 years old tucked in the heart of New Delhi was even more washed in color.

“The school has a conducive atmosphere for hockey.
Our team, trained by Rajinder Singh (former Indian hockey coach), is the best in Delhi,” Remember Arjuna Awardee Gagan Ajit Singh.

The Septuagenarian Hawa Singh Bhardwaj, the physical education teacher, was praised by students and teachers as people who formed champions from the body of the school student.
Bhardwah has known Kumar since he was only a boy.
“At least 20 students have played for the national team.
I remember Sumit since he was accepted in class V,” said the former national-level wrestler.
“I will reach school at 8 am and sprinkled fields with water before the students arrive.
I went home after 8pm after night training.” He had a backup bed at school for days when he was late to go back to the village Nangal Thakran.
The accumulation of rainwater in the field is a problem which is permanently financed with opportunistic demand when Palika underground bazaar was built in the late 1970s.
“I asked the New Delhi Municipal Council to give us land digging,” Smiled Bhardwaj.
“The truck arrives with the earth to raise the height of our Playfield.” Ever a coach, Bhardwaj have some tips for aspiring high.
“Good hockey players not only need good stamina, but also a strong heart and sharp intelligence.
I am looking for this on a beginner and train them with desire,” he said.
Tapan Roy, alumnus and chairman of the school government body, with unfortunately remembered, “When I studied in the 60s, schools emphasized the educational excellence as many extracurricular activities.
Everyone played soccer or hockey or joining Scouts and NCC.” He added, “Sumit Kumar’s achievements will motivate more students to aspire to excellence.”
