Delhi was first confirmed by Zika’s case, supervision

New Delhi: After Kerala, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh, the Zika virus also spread to Delhi.
The first case of a mosquito-proof disease was confirmed at RAM Manohar Lohia (RML) recently.
The source told Tii that a 61-year-old man from Shadipur in Northeast Delhi was hospitalized with fever and muscle aches in November last week.
Random inspection of serum samples, urine and someone’s throat with RT-PCR in the Hospital virology lab detected the existence of the Zika virus RNA in it.
Samples were sent to AIIMS and the National Virology Institute, Pune and both confirmed the existence of the Zika virus RNA.
After this, the doctor said, the warning was issued for the center of the national central disease and other major health institutions to increase supervisory steps in the area where patients live early in the case detection.
RML has issued a notification to all departments to oversee people with symptoms of Zika virus infection, such as fever, rash, conjunctivitis and muscle and joints.
“Zika infection during pregnancy can cause babies to be born with microcephali and other congenital malformations.
This infection is also associated with other complications of pregnancy, including premature birth and miscarriage,” said the notice.
“The sample of alleged cases must be immediately transported to the microbiology department accompanied by complete demographic and clinical details,” the notification was added.
Zika virus infection is largely scattered by the mosquito bites of infected Aedes species (aegypti and albopictus), which bite day and night.
Infections can also be derived from pregnant women to their fetus.
The statement given in Rajya Sabha on November 30 said that India has reported 231 cases of the Zika virus from Uttar Pradesh, Kerala and Maharashtra this year.
No deaths reported because of this disease.
Union MOS for Health Bharati Pravin Pawar said 83 cases were reported from Kerala, one from Maharashtra and 147 from above.
This virus was first discovered in 1947 and was named after the Zika forest in Uganda.
In 1952, Zika’s first human cases were detected and since then the outbreak has been reported in tropical Africa, Southeast Asia and the Pacific Islands.
“Because the trifekta of infectious diseases (hosts, agents and the environment) are all conducive to the spread of Zika in India, there is a great risk that infection can be endemic in India.
This is very dangerous in the background of covid- 19 pandemics.
This must be stopped by all means, The main aspects of public health, vector control and early diagnosis, especially in the case of pregnant women, “said articles published in journals, borders in microbiology.
