NEW DELHI: A woman was allegedly sexually assaulted and paraded in Shahdara area of the national capital on Wednesday.
The woman was attacked by a group of people who cut her hair, tore her clothes, blackened his face and then paraded through the streets with garlands slippers.
The defendant said the illegal liquor sellers in the area.
It has been alleged that the woman was also abuzz.
A video of the incident shows a woman being attacked.
“An unfortunate incident of sexual assault of a woman because of a personal feud going on in Shahdara District,” R Sathiyasundaram, deputy commissioner of police, told ANI Shahdara.
“Police have arrested four accused and the probe was on.
All assistance and counseling may be provided for the victims,” added the DCP.
He said cases of sexual violence and abuse have been registered with the police station concerned.
A source privy to the investigation told IANS that the dead woman had been staying in Shahdara area in recent years.
The woman was married and had a son.
A man who used to live in his neighborhood in the affairs of one side with him.
He rejected the advances many times.
A few days ago, the man allegedly committed suicide.
His family believe that he committed suicide because of her.
The family members of the man angry after the incident and the woman of the family are the ones who first attacked the victim.
Police are in the process of verification of the facts and allegations.
The woman is undergoing treatment at the hospital.
