New Delhi: Delhi Zoo will be reopened for visitors from August 1, more than three months after being closed due to a surge in the Coronavirus case during the second wave of pandemic, officials said on Monday.
The zoo was previously closed for more than a year because of the first wave of Coronavirus and bird flu.
It was reopened for visitors on April 1, only to close again on April 15 because of the revival of the Coronavirus pandemic.
“We plan to open the National Zoological Park (Delhi Zoo) starting 1.
(we) prepare things to do.
This will be two shifts as before.
Online ordering will be opened starting July 31,” said the word zoo word ramesh pandey , Visitors can buy online tickets either on the Zoo website or at the entrance gate using the QR code.
The zoo will operate in two shifts.
The first shift will be from 8am to noon and the second will start at 1pm to 5pm.
The zoo government has also introduced a cycle for staff and asks them not to use bicycles or cars inside the place.
Pandey said the zoo only recorded 124 animal deaths, the lowest in the last three years, while it was still closed to the public in 2020-21.
There are 94 species and 1,162 animals at the current zoo, he said.
“We move towards 100 species immediately,” he said.
