New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday directing the National Highway Authority (NHAI) to complete the second phase of Urban Extension (UER-II) in Delhi on August 15, 2023, which comes as the third ring road.
Marking the problem of the delay in the completion of the main infrastructure project, he also directed the Cabinet Secretary to prepare the “documents” of the works within one week and identified officers and institutions responsible for the delay, said government officials.

The source said PM referred to documents after reviewing two train projects – a new railway line that connects Bhanupuli, Bilaspur and Bari and Dedicated Western Transportation Corridor (WDFC) – in the 37th edition of Pragati.
The work on the new railway line began in 2008 with an estimated cost around Rs 2,000 Crore.
Previously, this project appeared to be reviewed in 2016.
Now the cost increases to around Rs 6,000 Crore.
Similarly, the leading project WDFC government has also been postponed.
On the previous occasion, Modi has requested the government department to improve the responsibility for delays in implementing projects that not only produce time overrun but also escalation in project costs.
