Delhi’s air quality entered the red zone for the first time

New Delhi: Air quality in the national capital enters the “very bad” category for the first time this season on Tuesday because of unfavorable conditions for dispersion of pollutants, the authorities said.
Stainble Burning accounts for six percent PM2.5 pollution in Delhi.
The remaining pollution is caused by local sources, said Gufran Beig, the Founder Project Safar, a government framework for estimates of air quality.
According to the central pollution control board, the capital recorded an average air quality index of 24 hours (AQI) 303.
It was 281 on Monday, 289 on Sundays and 268 on Saturday.
The neighboring cities of Faridabad (306), Ghaziabad (334), and Noida (303) also recorded very poor air quality.
Aqi between zero and 50 is considered “good”, 51 and 100 “satisfying”, 101 and 200 “moderate”, 201 and 300 “poor”, 301 and 400 “very poor”, and 401 and 500 “severe”.
“This is (very bad air quality) due to the accumulation of pollution from local sources because of low temperatures and high mixing low,” Beig said.
High mixing is a vertical height where pollutants are suspended in the air.
It’s reduced on cold days with a quiet wind speed.
Delhi did not record even one day “very poor” or “severe air quality” in October as a long rainy season and Western disturbance caused the recording of the recording of the month.
