Delhi’s Assembly passes GST Amendment Bill

New Delhi: Delhi Assembly on Friday issued bills (Amendment of Goods and Services Delhi (Amendment), to smooth the GST archiving process and to prevent tax avoidance, amid contradictions from BJP for introductions and hallways on the same day.
Small changes have been made In 15 parts of the Delhi GST law.
This has been included based on the experience and feedback from traders, Deputy Minister of Manish Sisodia while introducing bills on the second and final day of the Monsun session.
Amendment, he said, aimed at facilitating the process of archiving GST and checking fraud practice.
“GST is a new law; has arrived at our notification that some people use it and avoid taxes.
So, some amendments are aimed at connecting tax avoidance,” said Sisodia.
He said one of the amendments eliminates the need for mandatory audits Reconciliation of registered traders with 1.5 crore turnover And above.
“Therefore, traders must depend on the leased accountants and corporate secretaries,” he added.
Because the bill was being introduced, BJP MLA Vijender Gupta objected to the government brought the bill, discussing it and passed it on the same day.
“According to the rules, a copy of the bill must be given to all the members of the house two days before to learn it.
We did not get a hard copy,” Gupta said.
For this, RAM Niwas Goel speaker said copies of the bill had been sent to all members on their cellphone on Thursday night.
