Delhi government on Thursday allowed cinemas, theaters and multiplex to be reopened with a capacity of 50% after the cases in the capital has gone down.
Cinemas were closed in view of the sharp rise in the case and closing in Delhi affect the calendar for release in January.
However, now with the announcement of reopened, industry experts said that they hope for a brighter February they did not expect before.

Exhibitors said that they would reopen the cinema hall as soon as they receive the official notification.
Girish Johar, business experts and movie producer, said, “Cinema is awaiting notification of the government.

Akshay Rathee, director of the cinema chain and an industry expert, said, “February does have a line-up of films rescheduled and postponed.

Hoping for a big release
Exhibitors said that the biggest market for the movie is Maharashtra, and is the second largest market of Delhi.
With the reopening of cinemas in Delhi at 50% capacity, they say that it might lead to a big ticket movie releases.
Raj Bansal, a distributor, said, “Delhi is a very important revenue center.
I also know that there is speculation Jersey and Radhe Shyam let go now.
February is looking up, I expected.”
The film industry was looking at the calendar that is packed in January but things did not work because of a surge in Omicron.
The release of films such as Jersey, RRR, Prithviraj, and Radhe Shyam Delhi was delayed after the cinema closed.
