New Delhi: Minister of Environment Delhi Gopal Rai said on Thursday that Delhi’s contribution to air pollution was 31 percent and the remaining 69 percent of pollution was from outside Delhi, added that it was impossible to curb pollution without a joint action plan by the center.
The Minister citing reports published by Delhi Think Tank base called the Science and Environmental Center based on the report of the data issued by the Ministry of Earth Sciences called the air quality system and weather forecasting and research (Safar).
“According to the CSE report based on Safar data between October 24 and November 8, Delhi’s contribution in air pollution is 31 percent and the remaining 69 percent of pollution is from outside Delhi.
The report matches 36 years data that said 36 pollution per cent released from Delhi and 64 percent from the outside, “Rai said.
“No matter how hard we try, it is impossible to eliminate outside pollution 70 percent without a joint action plan by the center and monitoring team.
Data stipulates that contributions to Delhi pollution mostly come from outside.
Delhi people are constantly attacked by pollution, “He added.
Delhi’s air quality continues to be in the ‘very poor’ category for the fifth consecutive day today, according to the air quality & weather forecasting systems & research (Safar).
However, the overall air quality index was reduced from 379 on Wednesday to 362 today.
Meanwhile, announcing emergency measures to reduce pollution, the Minister of Environment Delhi Gopal Rai on Wednesday said that there would be 100 percent working from home to the government department until November 21.
Construction and demolition work has also been banned until November 21 in Delhi, while schools and other educational institutions will remain closed in the national capital to further orders, Rai gets information.
