New Delhi: All government and private schools can reopen in Delhi starting September 1 with grade 9 to 12 students are permitted to come first.
Colleges and coaching centers are also allowed to continue functioning since that day.
All of these educational institutions must follow the strict Covid-19 norms and ensure a 50% limit on the number of students.
Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) made this decision on Friday but the government’s notification was awaited.
Significantly, no students can be forced to attend school or college and parents who do not want to send children they can choose online classes.
Henceforth, the school will adopt the mixed approach i.e.
Have online and physical teaching.
DDMA on Friday approved a recommendation from the expert committee that the school for all classes must be opened gradually after a significant increase in the Covid-19 situation.
Class 6 to 8 can be allowed to reopen September 8, and after reviewing the situation, the decision about allowing the primary class will continue to be taken.
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said in a tweet that with Coronavirus falls, the school is being reopened in Delhi with full prevention so that loss of children’s education can be reduced.
“We also have to bring life back to the path and take care of the health and education of children,” he said.
“It is emphasized that adequate preparedness in schools, strict enforcement of SOP and daily monitoring must be made to avoid the spread of infection,” LG Anil Baijal, who is the Chair of the DDMA.
The meeting was attended by the core, Deputy CM Sisodia Manish, Minister of Health Satyendar Jain, Chief Secretary of Vijay Dev, Director of V K Paul Guleep Guleria Niti, Niti.
It was decided at a meeting that was not only the teacher and other staff but the driver and conductor of school buses must also be vaccinated, the density of the bus and vans should be avoided and signs must be done at the entry point and out of the school and other educational institutions to ensure no crowding at the door enter.
An official said only one student would be allowed to sit on a bench or a table intended for two people.
Because students will remove their masks during lunch breaks, DDMA suggests that lunch must be arranged in the open and duration reduced for up to 15 minutes.
It is recommended that schools must increase the number of sinks and all washing basins must have liquid soap.
All educational institutions must follow the same norm.
Students will be advised not to share books, lunch, and their stationery items.
Classrooms will be dissed regularly and the provision of thermal scanners is made.
Schools will also be asked to have a quarantine room and visit by guests will be discouraged.
DDMA suggested that a broad campaign must be done to make parents realize the risks and steps that must be taken to ensure the safety of their children.
The Delhi government will now post a proposal before LG for its final approval.
After that, the order will be issued by the secretary’s head that allows educational institutions to be reopened.
DDMA orders will be issued before the end of the month along with SOP.
Announcing the reopening, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, said, “experts believe that learning in school cannot occur at home and it’s too online.
Everyone believes that because Covid, education has suffered a lot.
So, the decision has been taken that Schools, colleges and coaching centers will be reopened in Delhi with all precautions.
“He added:” There is a massive loss of learning in the past half a year.
” “There are no children who are forced to come to school, which means that the school will function in mixed mode.
In that case, children will not be marked absent,” Sisodia said, overcoming a digital press conference.
He showed that there were very few countries that did not support the reopening now.
The Delhi government has been in the past few months by several drives throughout the city to vaccinate teachers.
“About 98% of government school teachers and all school staff in Delhi have received their first dose and we give the second dose.
Private schools also reported that a large number of their staff was vaccinated,” said Sisodia.
