New Delhi: Chairman of the Minister of Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday said schools in Delhi would not be reopened now.
“International there is a trend of Covid-19 rise through the third wave; therefore, until the vaccination process is complete for everyone, we cannot risk the life of children,” Kejriwal during the inauguration of the Pneumococcal Conjugate Vaccination Program in West Delhi.
The minister’s chairman marked the program in the government polyclinic in Paschim Vihar.
Pneumococcal disease is the main cause of morbidity and mortality in children under 2 years.
The vaccine will protect them from diseases such as pneumonia, meningitis and sepsis.
Usually Rs costs 1,500-6,000, but will be provided free of charge in Delhi government centers.
Every child will get three doses at one and a half months, three months and 9 months each.
Encouraging parents to get their children vaccinated, said Kejriwal, “Until now, Delhi’s children were given vaccines for 12 diseases.
From today, we manage vaccines for pneumonia which will protect children from disease.” He added that Vaccines will protect children from death.
“Previously, children under 5 years were influenced by pneumonia, even death was recorded.” Vaccines will be available at 600 vaccination centers throughout Delhi from Friday.
“This is a very expensive injection.
It costs between Rs 1,500 and Rs 6,000 and each child needs three doses.
Naturally, is not affordable for the general public, so that the Delhi government will provide it for free at the center,” Kejriwal said.
“This is a step forward towards Delhi’s government determination to improve and strengthen Delhi’s health care and infrastructure systems.” Regarding the Covid-19 vaccination program, the Minister of Chief said that the Delhi government was vaccinated at the maximum capacity in the capital.
“We manage as much as possible vaccines that we can every time we accept it.
As much vaccine we received from the central government, we gave them earliest,” he said.
