Delta is still dominant circulation strains in India: ICMR

Pune: The Indian Medical Research Council on Saturday said the Delta variant of Coronavirus continued to be the dominant stylish tension in India and Omicron had not replaced it, which meant that sustainable precautions and vaccines would remain effective.
“While omicron numbers can increase, it may not have to cause a heavy burden on the health care system.
However, the countries must be in the guards,” said Dr.
Samiran Panda, Director General of the Supplementary Medical Research Council (ICMR).
Against the background of the case of Omicron across 100-mark in the country on Friday, Panda said the majority of them were related to travel.
This image appears from the sorted sample so far and more details about omicron are waiting for, he said.
“So, residents must continue to practice all Covid protocols as a precautionary step and are convinced that the current vaccine is effective,” Panda said.
ICMR scientists say the total number of individuals detected in our country with Omicron Mutant is too small to draw conclusions in community transmission from the SARS-COV-2 variant “All that can be said of a small number of individuals infected with the omicron variant in this country is that some of the countries These cases have indicative travel history and some have a history of contact with confirmed cases, no reasonable exposure can be identified for others.
It is also important to appreciate that the number of infected individuals does not mean the number of symptomatic cases.
The term ‘individual Infected ‘and’ cases’ or ‘omicron patients’ are not identical, “he said.
Scientists say this is in accordance with the observed transmission dynamics reported from South Africa and other countries.
These nations have begun to report an increase in the number of infected individuals but no higher use of oxygen or ventilator with individuals or seriously ill deaths, he said.
This shows these asymptomatic omikron cases may have the potential to disseminate infection to others, many of which do not face serious clinical diseases, Panda said.
Given the smaller number of detected cases, travel-linked testing and travel are practiced now in India, therefore, logical.
“Any additional public health measures, such as community-based testing, above existing testing strategies should not be proposed based on panic.
They must be checked critically from the perspective of clinical relevance, which is known to the natural history of the transmission of this variant infection and the overall health benefit of public health,” said Panda.
ICMR stated that all states must ensure that there is no mass meeting, there are no unnecessary trips in countries or abroad and celebration of low advantages, he suggests the state to ensure increased vaccination and cover.
ICMR also directs the country to keep health infrastructure …
