LONDON: British health officials said the Delta variant of Covid-19 continued as the dominant strain of Coronavirus and marked a sharp increase in the UK with 54,268 cases again felled on Friday, which marked a 32 percent increase during the previous week.
The health of the British community (PHE) said its weekly analysis showed an increase in infection which continued by a similar increase in hospitalization and death, which reflected the high protection offered by the coronavirus vaccine dose.
In a separate study, PHE also found that all vaccines provided as effectively prevent symptomatic disease in the majority of people with underlying health conditions as part of other populations.
“Data continues to show that a sharp increase in the case we see is not followed by a similar increase in hospitalization and death,” said Dr.
Jenny Harries, Chief Executive of the British Health Security Agency.
“This is because two available vaccine doses offer high-level protection against the Delta variant.
Getting both Jabs is the best way to ensure you and the people you love stay safe, so we once again urge everyone to advance as soon as they qualify, “He said.
“When we approach the end of the planned restrictions, we must remain careful and careful.
Cases increase throughout the country, and while vaccines offer excellent protection, they do not offer 100 percent protection,” he added.
Weekly Data Data found the Delta AY.1 sub-line, called Delta plus mutations for feared vaccine resistance, remaining low at 44 cases.
Overall, the Delta variant – first identified in India – currently accounts for around 99 percent of cases sorted throughout the UK, followed by local Alpha variants.
`In the Varian Technical Briefing, PHE revealed that the” secondary attack rate “- the possibility of infection occurred in the context given – between household contact cases with delta continued to fall.
Although this continues, the secondary attack rate for contact cases of households and non-households with delta remains higher than for alpha.
In a separate vaccine study, PHE found the effectiveness of the overall vaccine against symptomatic disease in the risk group of around 60 percent after a good dose of Oxford astrazeneca [covishield] or pfizer / bionech, with little variation based on age.
After two doses, the effectiveness of vaccines is 81 percent with Oxford / AstraZeneca in the risk group aged 16 to 64.
There is no data available for both doses of PFIZER / BONONECH.
Diabetes, heavy asthma, chronic heart disease, chronic kidney disease, chronic liver disease, neurological disease, and disease or therapy that weakens the blood immune system – such as blood cancer, HIV or chemotherapy – all of them have been associated with an increased risk of hospitalization or death with covid -19.
“This real world data shows for the first time that most people who are clinically vulnerable to Covid-19 still receive a high level of protection after two vaccine doses,” said Dr.
Mary Ramsay, Head of Immunization in Phe.
“It is very important for anyone with the underlying conditions, especially the dose, especially people with a weakened immune system when they get more benefits from the second dose,” he said.
The British government will confirm on Monday plans to end all restrictions on law locking law in the country since July 19.
Doctors and medical leaders have called for the government to save several steps, such as facial masks in indoor arrangements, where infection continues to increase.
In a statement, the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges, representing 23 medical bodies responsible for training and development in various specializations, said it was very important that people took responsible approach when the limit was officially appointed.
It warns that there is a “little doubt that things will get worse before they get better”.
The warning came when England recorded 35,707 cases of Coronavirus every day on Friday, the highest daily rate of this year since January 22.
