New York: The New York International Auto Show has been a victim of Delta Coronavirus variant which spreads fast.
Show organizers said on Wednesday that they had decided to cancel this year, a little more than two weeks before the initial is scheduled.
The reason is the spread of developing variants and restrictions recently announced by state and local officials to fight it.
“Over the past few weeks, especially in the past few days, circumstances have changed, making it more difficult to make events with high standards that we and our clients expect, ” Mark Schienberg, the president of the show, in a statement.
The show was scheduled to start With a press day on August 19.
The next show will come in April 2022, said Spokesman Chris Sams.
The program was rubbed before the car truck left the warehouse to start moving to the Jacob Javits Convention Center.
In Manhattan, said Sams.
He said the action Government prevention will not stop the show this year, but the organizer worries the situation can deteriorate between now and early.
Once the truck goes, the cost of the car grows, he said.
The New York Show and others including Detroit and Los Angeles were canceled last year due to a pandemic .
