Kolkata: Vaccination clinic Kolkata Municipal company throughout the city on Tuesday received a slight supply of vaccines which caused hatred among those who queued in front of this clinic since early morning but were rejected vaccination.
According to a KMC health department official, the supply is very small so that most of these clinics cannot analyzen more than 50 citizens.
The official acknowledged that the total number of recipients dropped on Tuesday compared to last week when on one day the Civic body had noted by analyzing more than 60 residents in 200 vaccination centers.
According to a KMC health department official, thousands in 144 KMC environments have queued in front of the clinic to get the second covishield dose.
However, the majority of them cannot be given vaccines out of trivial supply, citizenship officials try to achieve a balance between the second dose recipient and priority group.
The inability to vaccinate those who queue led to great chaos.
In some places, KMC health officials must call the police to control the situation.
For example, the police rushed to the KMC vaccination center in the Baghajatin-SRI colony area when Irate people began to demonstrate the non-availability of vaccines.
According to the local environment coordinator, Mukherjee, more than 300 people stood in the queue from the early hours in the hope of getting Jab.
“But when the registration counter opened, those who in the queue were told that the vaccine supply was very little so only 50 could be given Jab.
This announcement makes the situation worse because people turn nervous,” Mukherjee said.
The scene at Ataban Garar Clinic is similar.
Over the day, the queue grew longer.
But here too, people are asked to visit the next day because the clinic only has 50 doses to be offered for more than 400 citizens.
Maity’s Bivas, a Garia resident on Tuesday went to the clinic and stood in the queue for more than two hours, feeling sad when he was told to visit the clinic on Wednesday.
“I hope when I heard about more than 60,000 inoculation records by the KMC clinic on one day ago.
But my expectations were destroyed when I was told that only 50 people would vaccinate.
I don’t know what will happen tomorrow,” said Mood.
Sandip Chatterjee, a resident of Tollygunge, however, was lucky because he and the subrata wife had their second covishield dose of a KMC clinic in Anwar Shah Road.
“I consider myself lucky compared to thousands of people who can’t take the second dose in time.
I hope the situation will get well soon,” Chatterjee said.
