Greater Noida: Breeders who protested outside Noida Power Company Limited in the park’s knowledge area ended their agitation on Tuesday after DISCOM official convinced them in writing that they would continue their main demands to the state government.
Toi has reported that some farmers led by Kankan Etta Sangh on Monday locked the main gate of NPCL for hours and squatting outside the other, demanding an electric bill “disputed”.
Senior NPCL officials and police officers arrived at the place to calm the farmers and held meetings with them until Monday night.
However, farmers on Tuesday refused to leave the Site protest without a written guarantee of NPCL.
More farmers arrived on the site in their tractor trolley and began to Panchayat at 11am on Tuesday.
Without a visible agreement, the farmers decided to lock the second NPCL office in Alpha 2 around 2pm.
“As a report on our decision to lock the second office reaching NPCL officials, NPCL DGM (Deputy General Manager) Subodh Tyagi, ACP Brijnanadan Rai reached the place and guaranteed to submit a written guarantee,” said a farmer on the protest site.

Then, in a statement signed by NPCL DGM, the discom tells the farmers that their demands, including flat bills for farmer households and go with a meter of electrical bills used in the field, will be sent to Uttar Pradesh Electric Regulatory Commission (UPERC).
Farmers who protested also demanded that campfire against them for power theft withdrawn.
UPERC has promised them that such cases will be discarded based on meter readings and after more talks with farmers.

When contacted, NPCL DGM Subodh Tyagi said that the discom had convinced the farmers that it would hold camps in villages from next week.
