Demo is held for water desalination machines on board

Mangaluru: Bengaluru-based companies conducted a demonstration of water desalination or a purification system that will be installed on sea fishing vessels on Friday.
Demonstrations were held before Minister of Fisheries, Port and Land Transportation Angara and Fisheries Department officials on the ship.
Jeffrey Sebastian, CEO of Transica Ventures, was appointed by Rainman, Australia, for drinking water desalination machines, said the machine operated on the principle of reverse osmosis.
The machine costs around Rs 6.3 lakh, for the electrical version, and a little higher for the gasoline version.
This can change 140 liters of water per hour.
With this, the fishermen will not face lack of water, and it will reduce the weight of the ship.
It will save fishermen nearly rs 30,000 per month, which is used to buy water to carry on their ship.
This product is available in 67 countries, and can be used for disaster management as well.
It weighs around 50 kg, he said.
Minister of Angara said this machine would be beneficial for fishermen, and when roaming into the sea in 10-15 days for fishing, they will not face a water crisis.
“We will discuss with the government about how to take this project forward, and support fishermen with subsidies,” he said.
