Kolkata: The mystery puts aside the death of a 53-year-old dengue patient whose body was found hanging on the toilet in the bathroom Sagore Dutta Medical College and Hospital (SDMCH) on Thursday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Indraji Manna, a clothing trader and residents of Jagaddal.
Relatives, who shifted him to the SDMC from the nursing home on Tuesday after his condition deteriorated, launching agitation accusing negligence in the hospital section.
They demand a probe into death.
The police said they had not confirmed whether it was a suicide case.
Some locals also demanded an explanation from the hospital.
A large police contingent posted to prevent unwanted incidents.
However, a hospital official said Manna ended his life by hanging himself.
“Cases of unnatural deaths have begun,” said a Senior Officer Barackpore Komisarier.
