Kanpur: Many very enthusiastic about Kanpurites appeared in a large number to take a ride on Kanpur Metro on the first day of his commercial operation on Wednesday.
There is excitement and happiness that is evident on the faces of people when they take the new Metro train inaugurated on the priority corridor route.
Many can be seen taking selfies and clicking on a picture of a metro station that is full of tastes and trains.
There is a big rush on almost all metro stations.
On the first day of commercial operation, the metro ran from 6am to 10pm.
In accordance with Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) 30,000 people took the metro ride on the first day at 5:48 a.m., the first metro-based QR ticket was issued for one Sushil Kumar Singh at Gurudev Metro Station.
Sushil was welcomed by UPMRC officials and staff as the first passenger of Metro Kanpur.
Some passengers were welcomed by riding Buds and Sweets.Upmrc MD, Kumar Keshav was also present at the station to welcome the passengers.
He also interacted with passengers and took their feedback.
Many passengers reported several interference and said that the next arrival station announcement was not made.
QR-based tickets cannot be removed after a while because some barriers and manual tickets are issued for many passengers.
UPMRC said, all interference will be resolved soon.
He said, “We have sent Metro Kanpur to city people in a short time.
But we don’t have to stop now.
We are committed to completing the two Kanpur Metro corridors within the specified time limit.”
