Copenhagen: The Danish government will no longer assume Covid-19 as “social critical illness in Denmark,” quoting a large number of vaccinations in the Scandinavian country.
“The epidemic is controlled.
We have recorded a high level of vaccination,” said Minister of Health Magnus Heunicke in a statement on Friday.
Starting September 10, “We can drop some special rules that we have to introduce in the fight against Covid-19,” he said.
In practice, it will mean partially removing vaccination card requirements for several major events, such as concerts, and at nightclubs.
On July 1, Denmark introduced a digital coronavirus passport that must be shown when needed.
“Even though we stand in a good place, we don’t come out of the epidemic.
And the government will not hesitate to act quickly if the pandemic again threatens important functions in our society,” he added.
On Thursday, Heunickke said that 80% of all people over 12 years in Denmark were vaccinated.
Getting a shot in Denmark is voluntary and available for people aged 12 years and over
