Dumka: Deoghar, which is home to the famous Baba Baidathdhhhhhhhham temple, is playing with another unique idea to filter neer (sacred water poured on the god of Shiva and other gods) to make it available for worshipers through the right packaging.
Thousands of liters of water, including the gangajal offered by worshipers here often flow into the waterways.
Deputy Commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri on Monday said that they are now working to use them correctly.
“I have directed the officials concerned to come up with a detailed plan to save Sacred Neer in Mansarovar (nearby pool) and sell it to worshipers by purifying and packing it properly,” said Deputy Deoghar Manjunath Bhajantri after visiting the temple on Monday.
Bhajantri said that the holy water flowing to the sewer also hurt religious sentiment.
“Utilizing the Holy Neer by filtering and recycling it will not only satisfy the religious sentiments of worshipers but also give them the opportunity to buy it as a prasad,” he added.
He said direction was also given to utilize various Puja equipment, especially Belvapatra and flowers to make agarbattis create employment opportunities for locals here.
Deoghar District Administration has worked for the GI tag for its spicy, the traditional sweet offered to God, as naifiedyam.
