Dept. was asked to take more projects under MGNREG

BHubaneswar: Implementation of the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme of Mahatma Gandhi (MNGREGS) will be intensified in the state with the Department Requested to take all activities permitted under the central work scheme, which is currently being executed in a different state scheme.

State Finance Secretary of Vishal Dev, in a recent letter to the Secretary of the Different Department, said 262 types of work such as agriculture, forestry, horticulture, fisheries, sericulture, livestock, financial commission grants to Panchayat, irrigation and school education have been identified, Can be implemented in convergence with MGNREGS by the department concerned.

Previously, Pancayati Raj Secretary Ashok Meena told the Ministry of Finance that many activities were permitted under MGNREG which were executed by the department considered by utilizing funds from MGNREG funds that were underutilized.

MGNREGS is a superior center scheme that provides 100 working days of wages to every rural household, which volunteer adult members to do unskilled manual work to secure their livelihoods.

Under the scheme of rural work, this center has all costs towards unskilled wages which are at least 6% of the total project expenditure.
Likewise, the issuance of material components is being borne by the center and state government in the proportion of 75:25.
The official source at the Pancayati Department Raj said the total 20 days of Crore of Works was created for 2020-21 to provide a livelihood opportunity to a large number of migrants, who returned to the country because of a pandemic.
If one person works for a day, it is counted as one day one person.
