Bhubaneswar: In-depth depression over Bay Bengal increases into a storm of a cyclone, named Gulab, which can make landing between Gopalpur in Odisha and Kaingapapatnam on Sunday night, the Indian Meteorology Department (IMD) said.
IMD said the cyclone would be followed by low pressure on Tuesday.

on Saturday, the storm of the cyclone was immersed above the northwest and side by side with the Bay of Central Middle Bengal, around 370 km southeast Gopalpur and 440 km to the east of Kaingapapatnam.
Director of IMD General Mrutyunjaya Mohapatra said the maximum wind speed because the typhoon would be around 75 km to 85 km per hour.
However, the area that comes under its influence can watch with very heavy rainfall in South Odisha and North Andhra Pradesh.
Mohapatra said the low pressure that would follow the typhoon could cause a decrease in heavy rain in the North Odisha district, despite further clarity about the field of influence and the road would come after a hurricane across the beach.
“Because the cyclone will be followed by low pressure, both systems can interact and affect the trajectory and intensity of each,” Mohapatra told Toi.
The state government on Saturday began to evacuate people from lowland areas in the South Odisha district and mobilized rescue personnel in front of the land predicted by ‘Gulab’ while the government had evacuated around 600 people from Gajapati, the worst district was hit by Cyclone titli in 2018, There are plans to evacuate more on Sundays.
Collectors from various districts in South Odisha held an urgent preparatory meeting to deal with the crisis and ensure no victims.

SRC said as a preventative measure, 24 teams of National Disaster Response (NDRF) and 42 Disaster Team Odisha Force Action Action (ODRAF) were being deployed in various places in the district which would likely be affected.
Eight more teams of both power will be saved backup for deployment in a short time.
Director IMD Bhubaneswar HR Biswas said several places in three Ganjam districts, Gajapati and Puri could witness a very heavy rainfall and had been given a red warning for Sunday while Coraput, Malkangiri, Kandhamal, Rayaganada, and Nabarangpur could witness very heavy rainfall ( And given orange warnings) while several more districts (Khurda and Nayagarh) were given a yellow warning (heavy rain).
Engineers at the Head of the Prabir Samal Water Resources Department said there was anticipation of flash floods in Rushikulya, Nagabali and Vansadhara river due to heavy rains.
Officers remain vigilant on strategic points to monitor the situation.
