Deputy Bihar CM released a manual for child budgeting

Patna: Deputy Chief of Minister (CM) Tarkishore Prasad on Thursday released ‘manual for child budgeting in Bihar’ which has been developed by Asia Development of Institutions (ADRI) related to the Ministry of Finance and the UN Bihar Field Office.

Nearly 90% of them live in rural areas.

“There has been a sustainable increase in allocation and expenditure for children in the past nine years.
Between 2013-2014 and 2019-2020, overall expenses for children register annual growth of 22.7%,” Tarkishore said.
He added, “Bihar government works earnestly to increase many girls with the help of a scheme such as ‘Kanya Uthan Yojana’.
Many new schools have been opened and this has reduced the dropout rate.” Secretary of the Additional Head (Finance) Siddharth stated in the address Especially that there must be a separate chapter for girls in the child’s budget and its progress monitored continuously.
“In Bihar Most parents think of marrying the girl as soon as he reaches the age of 14 years.
To fix this problem, the state government educates girls until they graduate.
It will also help empower girls and reduce fertility levels,” he said.
Nafisa Binti Shafique, head of the UNICEF office for Bihar, delivered an introductory comment.
He showed that at first, eight departments were included in the child’s budget, but now 11 departments will report for the same thing.
Prabhat P Ghosh, Secretary of the Member, Adri argued at his remarks that Bihar was close to the national level as far as IMR concerned but this was not the case by paying attention to the field of education.
In the second session, Barna Ganguli, Assistant Professor, CEPPF, Adri introduced the child’s budget manual, 2021.
He described how it became possible to issue a manual.
Pramod Kumar Verma, a former additional director, the Department of Planning and Development, which focuses on 21 indicators of sustainable development goals (SDG) related to the child’s budget.
Sanjeev Mittal, Budget Officer – Secretary of Deputy, Ministry of Finance, provides training to Nodal officers in the child’s budgeting process.
