Ludhiana: In an initiative aimed at increasing green cover in the district, Varinder Commissioner (DC) Varinder Kumar Sharma on Monday began the main plantation journey in Jagraon.
Starting Plantations at various sub-divisions, DC, along with the head of Nanaksar Gurudwara Baba Lakh Singh, additional DC Jagraon Nayan, Assistant Commissioner (under Training) Harjinder Singh Bedi, Sub-Division Judge Narinder Singh Dhaliwal, said The Clean and Free Environment Pollution is a must to ensure good health from residents and trees is the only source of oxygen, the basis of human life on earth.
Sharma said in today’s scenario when the forest cover was thinning, the need for hours was to ensure maximum plantations.
He added that a big boost would be placed on the right maintenance of this plant.
Explain this as a social cause, DC said this drive has begun in consultancy with the commitment of the Minister of Punjab Amarinder Singh to encourage people to plant more] trees to make punjab clean, green and pollution-free.
Sharma said such a campaign would help examine environmental pollution in the state.
Requesting the support of these noble causes, Sharma asked them to plant and maintain at least anyah for the future generation.
Head of Nanaksar Gurudwara Baba, Lakha Singh also advised people to plant worship for future generations.
