Ludhiana: Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma on Friday asked for health, rural development, and Panchayat, regional government agencies and city corporations to start a major journey to examine the spread of dengue fever in the district.
Maintaining a meeting here in the District Administrative Complex, Deputy Commissioner said that places that are vulnerable to producing mosquito larvae must be identified in this drive and people are made sensitive about breeding places.
He said that the joint team consisting of the Ministry of Health and local agencies must hold a door-to-door survey and examine places where larvae have breeded because of the dissatisfaction of the owner in the form of water storage in air conditioning or other dispose of goods House.
Sharma said that special inspections of government offices must also be carried out in this regard to ensure that air conditioning, old / obsolete equipment and others do not become a breeding place for mosquitoes.
He said that the district government was strongly committed to handling this threat to ensure good population health.
Deputy Commissioners further said that complicated settings need to be made to handle the diseases transmitted through this vector especially in hot spots.
He said that 106 cases of dengue fever had been reported this year and this number must be lowest receding.
