New Delhi: Venkaiiah Naidu vice president on Thursday urged the State Governor and Lieutenant Governor Union to be proactive in overseeing the implementation of the Central Government program and in mobilizing the nation’s development initiative.
Overcoming the Governor’s Conference and Lieutenant Governor here, he urged them to “monitor and guide” the initiative launched by the central government inspired by the philosophy of ‘Sabka Day-Sabka’ to ensure effective national progress.
Naidu shares with his thoughts and concerns over various problems, including environmental protection, entrepreneurial promotion among farmers, health care for all, and promotion of constitutional and ethical values in public life.
Referring to the extensive experience of governors in public life, vice-presidents emphasize that they have an important role in shaping their policies and executions, ensuring effective utilization of rare resources and ensuring probitas and ethics in public life.
“The Governor and the Lettas Governor must function not only as a constitutional authority but with the moral authority of older statesman,” Naidu underlines, adding they must pioneer environmental protection, maintain culture and nature for a better future.
Vice-President urged the Governor and L-GS to ensure that governance and public life were characterized by strict compliance with the philosophy and provision of the Constitution.
He also called for the effective implementation of new national education policies, mainly laid a greater emphasis on education through mother tongue.
In the midst of increasing concerns over climate change, Naidu urged the governors to promote people’s movements for climate friendly actions such as tree plantations, water conservation, environmentally friendly construction, waste management, among others.
Praising India’s efforts in managing more than 100 anti-covid crore vaccines, vice president asked the governor to ensure tracking and do what was needed to overcome vaccine doubts.
He also called for lifestyle changes to healthy living and ensuring access to all health facilities.
