Coimbatore: Directorate of Precautions and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) Sleouth has captured Deputy Zonal Palladam Tahsildar in Tirupur Regency for taking bribes of Rs 10,000 from someone to rename in the Patta.
According to the DVAC source, residents of Kethanur Village have approached Deputy Tahsildar, 44 years old M Meganathan, because it changed the name at the Patta on 2.
However, demands RS10,000 from it for the same thing.
The population, whose identity source declined to divulge, approaching Dovac Sleuth, led by police deputy supervisor C Dakshinamoorthy, put a trap to arrest Deputy Tahsildar.
“We gave the resident chemical-plated currency, asked him to submit the same thing to Deputy Tahsildar in the Taluk office on Monday night.
We caught Meganathan with red hands taking bribes,” said the source.
DVAC Sleuth has registered a case against Deputy Tahsildar under various parts of the prevention of corruption laws (amendments).
He was then produced in front of Judicial Judge, who returned it in custody of the judiciary.
