Bhubaneswar: The train-filled trains lying near Angul about 2.35 in the morning due to flash floods, triggered by heavy rain, weakening the train track base near the bridge above Rivulet.
The incident occurred only 40 minutes after Puri-Hata Tapaswani Express with 550 passengers on the ship had crossed the track.
The train service between Sambalpur and Bhubaneswar is disturbed as an area, where the goods are slipped, only have one lane.
Twelve trains were canceled and eight were diverted on Tuesday, while four trains had been canceled and the other three were diverting on Wednesday.
Some trains again were canceled in part for two days.
East Coast Train Officer Public Relations Officer Kaushalendra Kishore Khadanga said train items, traveling from Ferozepur in Punjab to Khurda Road had left Angul station at 2.15 in the morning and slipped between Angul and Talcher Road.
Nine railroad carts were upside down, while one slipped.
“Prima Facie, erosion under the footsteps because Flash floods seem to be the cause of dance,” Khangga said.
While the girder box from the bridge is intact, the retaining wall on both parties has been damaged.
CPRO said the JCB engine and two cranes from Sambalpur and Khurda had been deployed in restoration work but Rain had delayed the process.
The main train that has been canceled is Bhubaneswar-Balangir and Bhubaneswar-Rourkela (both Tuesday and Wednesday) in addition to the daily train such as Rourkela-Puri, Hatiia-Puri, Durg-Puri and Rourkela-gunupur and the weekly the castle-locations tilated express.
, While the Rourkela-Bhubaneswar train route has been limited to sambalpur.
Anand Vihar-Bhubaneswar Special, who left Anand Vihar on Monday, was diverted through Chakradharpur-Jaroli and Jamhapura.
Visakhapatnam-Amritsar Special Ran Via Vizianagaram-Rayagada-Titilagarh-Sambalpur.
Durg-Puri Special, who left Durg on Monday, returned from Boinda and ran through Sambalpur-Titilagarh-Vizianagaram-Khurda Road.
Special Heat-Puri Tapaswini is also transferred through Sambalpur-Titilagarh-Vizianagaram and Khurda Road.
