Wardha: The Wardha police arrested the leader of Hindu Religion KaliCharan Maharaj on Wednesday in connection with a case listed here in Maharashtra for allegedly making a statement insulting Mahatma Gandhi.
People were taken here at around 5 o’clock in the morning of Raipur in Chhattisgarh, where he was put forward in a connection with a similar case registered there, said police officer Piyush Jagtap.
He was produced in front of the local judge court who released it in the custody of the judiciary.
The case against religious leaders was registered at the Wardha City Police Station on December 29, 2021.
Previously, KaliCharan Maharaj had been arrested by Police Raipur for allegedly making a condescending comment on Mahatma Gandhi at an event at Chhattisgarh Capital City on December 26 on December 26, December 26th.
A similar case was also registered with him by police Akola in Maharashtra.
Last week, Pune police had arrested him for allegedly addressing the ‘Shiv Pratap Din’ program there on December 19, 2021, organized to celebrate the murder of the commander of Adilshahi Afzal Khan by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in 1659.
The court at Pune last Friday provided guarantees to him in the following case which he was sent to prison in Raipur in his case his comments against Mahatma Gandhi.
The Wardha police arrested him on Wednesday from there, after submitting a production order, an official said.
