Jaipur: The country’s first Desert Park, Kishan Bagh, spread across 64 hectares in the outskirts of the city, will be open to tourists before Diwali, said Urban and Housing Development (UDH) Minister (UDH), Shanti Dhariwal, after a visit on Saturday.
The ecotourism project has natural features preserved by the Ministry of Forestry and the Development Authority of Jaipur (JDA).
The park fell under the Vidhyadhar Nagar area, which was almost 15 km from the city.
Dhariwal said, “The park is one of its kind in that country, where sand dunes and desert species grow and are preserved.
Will be immediately on a bucket list of tourists visiting Jaipur.” For maintenance of traditional plants in the biodiversity park, JDA plans to spend RS 2.65 Crore.
After being discarded, residents can enjoy the tranquility of the desert on the outskirts of the pink city without traveling traveling.
Kishan Bagh, the first Desert Park project in this city, was initiated in August 2016.
A forest official said, “This park has a Habitat Dhok, granite habitat, nursery, rock and fossil exhibition to mention a little.” The area was developed without disturbing topography.
The park will represent a unique desert ecosystem.
“We have developed natural vegetation that resembles the desert of Thar.
Seeds and sand are brought from Jaisalmer to develop flora in the park.
A total of 18 original tree species have been planted,” officially added.
Trees from Barmer, Sirohi, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Chittorgarh and Banswara are also planted in the park.
A official said, “There are many natural trips around the park and residents can appreciate nature in a safe environment with their families,” said an official.
