Mumbai: When moving the Supreme Court to protect the coercive action by the Directorate of Enforcement (ED), former Minister of Maharashtra’s home Anil Deshmukh missed Edge’s call for the third time in a week, this time accused the essence of “not transparent”.
In a letter to Ed from the Assistant Mumbai Director Tassine Sultan, Deshmukh said that he had devoted his whole life to public services and would not hesitate to provide assistance that might be needed in conducting ongoing investigations.
“However, a series of events have raised concerns about bona fide in my mind that both legal procedures are being followed or every purpose, an impartial or transparent investigation is being carried out,” said the 72-year-old NCP leader in his letter.
Deshmukh said that he had transferred the petition at the Supreme Court which would be listed in a few days, and Ed had to wait until the results in the APEX court.
“I am optimistic that your good self will actually eliminate the impression of bias or prejudice that has accumulated in my mind by conducting an inquiry in a more transparent and objective way.
I only received assistance for the treatment of my law remembering the distinctiveness of the situation,” he said.
This is the third time almost a week that Deshmukh – which was raided by Ed on June 25, and at least 2 servants were arrested – had refused to call Ed to join the probe.
While Deshmukh was called on Monday, his son Hrishikesh was summoned by Ed on Tuesday to the probe into the alleged charges of money laundering after complaints by former Police Commissioner Mumbai Param Singh, after he was transferred from the post.
Singh – Now the commander of the housekeeper – claimed that the former minister was allegedly giving a collection of RS 100 Crore’s collection per month to Assistant Assistant Inspector Sachin Waze who was now dismissed.
